Dicky and Patrick’s big day was held in the loud and proud city of Liverpool

Richard (Dicky) was born and bred in the city, but met his South African husband when he upped sticks and moved down to London, where they both now reside. We were over the moon when they decided to have their wedding back in Liverpool and even happier when they asked us to shoot it.

It is always a privilege to be asked to take photos of one of the most important day’s of a couples lives, and even more so when a friend asks you. From the moment it was confirmed we knew we would have a blast, we always aim to create a super relaxed and informal relationship with every couple we shoot, and with these guys it was easy!

We arrived at theHard Days Night the swanky Beatles hotel and were greeted with prosecco from the very calm looking couple. Getting ready was a slightly different affair than we’re used to, with both deciding to skip the traditions and get ready together. This lent itself to lots of fun photos, including some beauties on the balcony with the cities stunning architecture as a backdrop and it meant that any nerves/reservations were well and truly gone by the time we were ready to leave.

Moving on to the Royal Liver Building where a large group of family and friends and a double decker bus were waiting. We couldn’t not get a few cheeky pics of the couple in front of this iconic Liverpool landmark, the prosecco was also still flowing!

After a short but enthusiastic bus ride filled with lots of Liverpool banter, we arrived at the Crosby Town Hall for the beautiful and emotional ceremony that had at least a few pair of eyes needing a tissue or two. Following the ceremony the bus load of guests headed off to the reception venue and we headed to the beach…that’s right the beach! After getting over the initial shock of there being a lovely sandy beach in Liverpool, we got right into the spirit of some post ceremony love is in the air couple photos with ice cream and more prosecco, there was definitely a theme there somewhere.

Heading back to the reception venue, we landed at the charismatic and charming Delifonseca on Stanly Street. The day truly kicked off from here, with all the formalities done it was time to party. Some delicious boards of canapes were soon floating around, followed by bowls of delicious hot food to help yourself to, the informal but delicious food at Delifonseca really set the day.

The wedding cake was a piece of art hand made by Patrick’s sister in law Erica, it contained three tiers each representing a significant part of the couple, Liverpool for Dicky, South Africa for Patrick and London for their now home together, it tasted damn good too! If you want a masterpiece of a cake you can check her out at Iced Innovations on Facebook.

As the day turned to night, in true Scouse style the party was absolutely rocking! It’s always great to work with friends, an extra dimension of fun is injected into the wedding and we couldn’t be happier with how the photos for Dicky and Patrick turned out. You can clearly see the fun, the banter and the love that filled the atmosphere that day.

There’s nothing more to say, but, enjoy! And bring on the rest of the 2017 weddings – we love our job!

Enjoy the highlights of this amazing day….
